Volunteer
This year, our big event is Saturday, October 5th! On average, over 4,000 volunteers go out into the community every year, often working side-by-side with the homeowners to make a difference - to raise their standard of living and bring pride back to them and their neighborhood.
Volunteers from businesses, churches, and many different professions from across the metropolitan area contribute hundreds of man-hours helping to restore and renovate approximately 300 homes every year. Exhausted yet exhilarated by the results of helping neighbors in need, everyone realizes the tangible impact that has been made. The need is great but the team-building and personal rewards are enormous.

Want to help us make a greater impact? You can volunteer no matter your skill level! Volunteer opportunities include:

-
Carpentry
-
Light plumbing
-
Electrical
-
Tile
-
Concrete Repair
-
Roofing
-
Yard work
-
Painting
-
Cleaning
-
Insulating
-

-
Window Repair
Service opportunities are available year-round and any day that the homeowner is available. Groups consist of a House Captain (HC) who is the group leader and coordinator, a construction leader, and a team of 5-20 volunteers. Most projects are completed in one day! Timing is dependent on the skills, number of volunteers, and the size of the job you select.

Christmas in October spends much of the year gathering applications from homeowners and qualifying them for our program. The HC then searches those applications for homeowners and work requests that meet their skills.
